CHICO, CA (8-24-09) - Handy Racing Promotions announced today that there will be an additional 1,000 seats in the pit area for this years 56th Annual Gold Cup Race of Champions. These pit seats will be in addition to the normal seating brought in for the Gold Cup. These new seats will be placed in turn two along the push off area in the pits. The bleacher seats will be similar to the ones that are brought in and placed on the turn three side of the pit area. Hopefully this will allow the fans to have a better chance to view California's fastest four nights of sprint car racing.

The festivities for the 56th Annual Gold Cup Race of Champions kick offs on Wednesday night, September 9, with the Pacific Sprint Cup and Wingless Invitational. The top 32 in Civil War points are invited along with wingless sprints entires that are received at the track office.

Thursday morning gets off to an early start with the 23rd National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum Golf Classic. This year's event takes pace at the beautiful Tuscan Ridge Golf Course. There is a 9 am shotgun start for the event hosted this year by Chuck Stowe. Mr. Stowe can be contacted at 641-842-6176. He is currently looking for more players for the event.

Friday night the annual Bikini Contest will take place in part with the Chili Feed. The post race attraction is always a must attend event.

Saturday's Placerville Gang Barbecue will take place near the pit entrance starting around noon.

The World of Outlaws will hit the speedway on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. The Saturday night main event winner will receive $50,000. Over 100 competitors will compete during the four nights of sprint car racing.

Single day grandstand tickets are still available by calling the track office at 916-969-7484.
