CHICO, CA (9-4-17) - Campers and race fans are already showing up in anticipation of the 64th Anniversary of the Gold Cup Race of Champions. The on-track racing starts Wednesday September 6th and continues through Saturday night September 9th. Billed as the fastest four nights of racing in California, the Gold Cup is an event rich in tradition and nationally known as a sprint car fans paradise.

The Gold Cup ticket office is now open on site at the Speedway. The white office is located behind the main grandstands and is open from 9 AM to 4 PM daily. Fans are encouraged to stop by and pick up their tickets. Tickets can still be purchased by calling (530) 350-7275.

Campers and fans are instructed to enter the main entrance at the Silver Dollar Speedway. When exiting the fairgrounds, we ask that you use the North gate located by Costco. There is still a small group of firefighters at the facility but most fire equipment and camps are located on the outskirts of the fairgrounds. We are proud to assist the hard-working men and women who have done an amazing job in containing the Ponderosa Fire.

Wednesday night, September 6th, the Civil War 360-Winged Sprint Car Series and C&H Veteran Ent. presents Hunt Magnetos Wingless Tour continue their charge towards crowning a yearlong champion. In fact, Wednesday night marks the finale for the Civil War Series. Reserved seating is $25.00 and general admission is as low as $10.00 a ticket. Thursday night, September 7th, the Amsoil USAC/CRA non-wing sprint cars and BCRA/USAC Midget Series will highlight traditional open wheel racing. Reserved seating is $30.00. General admission ticket is just $15.00. On both nights, kids 11 and under are admitted free with paying adult in the general admission seating area.

World of Outlaws and the Dwarf cars race Friday and Saturday night. Friday night, September 8th reserved ticket is $45.00 while general admission is $30.00. The September 9th Saturday night finale is $55.00 for a reserved ticket and $40.00 for general admission. Fans can purchase reserved grandstand tickets by calling (530) 350-7275. On-line ticket information can be found at http://goldcup.silverdollarspeedway.com/
